Plate And Frame Filter Press
The plate and frame filter press is mainly composed of a thrust plate, a compression plate, a filter plate and a filter frame, a beam, a filter medium, a compression device, a liquid collection tank, etc. The plates and frames are arranged alternately, and the two sides of the filter plates are covered with filter cloth. The plates and frames are pressed tightly by a pressing device, and a filter press chamber is formed between the plates and frames. There are holes on the corners of the filter frame and filter plate, which form a complete channel after assembly, which can pass into the suspension, wash water, and lead out the filtrate.
Recessed Plate Filter Press
The structure of the recessed filter press is similar to that of the plate and frame filter press, but the single filter plate of the recessed plate filter press is thicker than the plate and frame filter press plate, and the recessed plate filter press consists of two identical filter plates. When the two filter plates are pressurized, a filter chamber is formed, which is used to store granular objects separated by filter cloth, and the feed hole is placed in the center of the filter plate, which is usually used for materials with larger particles, such as sewage treatment, mineral processing, coal washing, etc. The recessed chamber filter press can withstand a filtration pressure of up to 1.0Mpa and can be easily unloaded by an automatic pull plate. Vertical Filter Presses

Chamber filter press refers to a kind of intermittent operation filtering equipment. The filter chamber of the chamber filter press is composed of two adjacent concave filter plates. Under the pressure of the feeding pump, the material liquid that needs to be filtered is sent to each filter chamber, and the solid and liquid are separated through the filter medium (select the appropriate filter cloth according to different industries). A filter residue is formed on the filter cloth until the filter chamber is filled to form a filter cake. The filtrate passes through the filter cloth and flows along the groove of the filter plate to the lower outlet hole channel for centralized discharge. After the filtration is completed, the filter residue can be washed with clear washing water. After washing, compressed air is sometimes introduced to remove the remaining washing liquid. After filtration, open the filter press to remove the filter cake (the filter cake is stored between two adjacent filter plates), clean the filter cloth, and re-press the plate filter to start the next working cycle.

Chamber Filter Press Treatment Process
Pretreatment: First, the acidic wastewater is collected into a wastewater pool, and alkaline substances (such as lime or sodium hydroxide) are added to the wastewater to neutralize the acidity. The pH value is adjusted to a range suitable for subsequent treatment. Then, flocculants (such as polyacrylamide) are added to aggregate the suspended matter in the wastewater into larger flocs, which is convenient for subsequent solid-liquid separation.
Feed: The pretreated wastewater is pumped into the filter chamber of the filter press. The filter plate of the filter press is covered with filter cloth. The selection of filter cloth needs to be determined according to the acidic characteristics of the wastewater, and usually, a material with strong acid resistance is selected.
Pressure Filtration: The hydraulic system applies pressure to force the liquid in the wastewater through the filter cloth, while the solid particles (i.e., filter residue) are trapped on the filter cloth to form a filter cake. The filtered liquid (filtrate) usually flows into the sump.
Unloading The Filter Cake: After the filtration is completed, the filter press will automatically or manually remove the filter cake. The unloaded filter cake can be dehydrated and dried or sent directly to a dedicated waste treatment facility.
Filtrate Treatment: The filtrate is usually further treated chemically, such as neutralization or precipitation, to remove residual acidic substances and metal ions. The treated filtrate can meet the discharge standard or reuse standard.
Equipment Cleaning: To maintain the filtering effect, the filter cloth needs to be cleaned regularly, usually using high-pressure water or chemical cleaning agents. During the treatment process, some acidic substances will remain inside the filter press, which needs to be cleaned regularly to prevent equipment corrosion and clogging.
How To Clean Up The Chamber Filter Press

When the filtrate is pumped into the equipment by the feed pump, the first place to flow in is the filter chamber, and the filter chamber is formed by splicing filter plates one by one, so cleaning the filter chamber is equivalent to cleaning the filter plates. So when we clean the chamber filter press equipment, the first thing we need to do is to return the push plate, loosen the filter plate piece by piece, and remove the filter cake from it. The key is to clean up some drainage holes on the filter plate. Prevent the filtrate from air-drying and depositing at these critical locations, causing blockage and damage to the filter plate, so that the chamber filter press equipment will not work properly next time.
In addition to cleaning the filter chamber, the filter cloth also needs to be cleaned. The filter cloth is the direct bearer of the separation between the solid and the liquid of the equipment, so the importance of cleaning the filter cloth can be imagined. After we take off the filter cloth, soak it in the liquid with the opposite pH value of the filtrate, which can reduce the solid particles of the filtrate mixed in the filter cloth.
